If you’ve ever felt like you’re living someone else’s story, I see you. I’ve been where you are.
For years, I carried the weight of my family’s dreams, not my own. After I graduated from college, my mother wanted me to go to medical school, but that wasn’t my dream. It was hard to describe what my dreams were. I felt lost. The burden of her expectations, of society’s expectations, felt heavy.
I spent years chasing validation and a sense of belonging in a world that never truly felt like home.
Then, I met an amazing partner, a hard worker, and first in everything, just like me. We started a life together, never bothering to ask about where we were in our financial journey. A year after we married, we discovered we were buried under more than $77,000 in debt. Wow! We had to face our financial reality and learn to tell our money what to do in order to make our partnership work.
This painful lesson became the foundation of our financial freedom and a core part of what I now teach because a liberated woman cannot exist without the financial resources to live the life she wants!
As I progressed through my professional career, I earned a doctorate and became a Chief Executive, yet I still felt empty.
The constant microaggressions, the feeling that I always had to prove myself, and the exhaustion of trying to fit into a system that wasn’t built for me was soul-crushing. I was done. I decided to ask a simple question: What would I build if I had no pressure or expectations from anyone but myself? I chose to align my life with my values and redefine what living a wealthy life means to me.
I am a cycle breaker. I am a wealth builder.
The constant pressure to survive is over.
I now stand in my self-worth. I am building a life of joy and fulfillment that will change not only my family’s history but the lives of my kids, grandkids, and generations to come.
This is the new definition of wealth I embody and teach.
